Parent Coaching Help Articles - MY KIDS NEVER LISTEN!
Good communication helps children and parents to develop confidence, feelings of self-worth, and good relationships. Communication is both listening and talking. It is important to remember that if we want our kids to listen to us, we must also learn to really listen to them.
Please call us at  617-257-3241 for professional parent coaching and parenting help. Together we can get your kids to listen!

Tips for better communication:

1. Teach kids to listen by example

2. Speak in a quiet, respectful voice
3. Make eye contact. This may mean physically lowering yourself down to their level
4. Give your child undivided attention - DON’T multi-task.
5. Never threaten---say what you really mean or don’t say it at all. Saying one thing and doing another sends a mixed message that is often confusing.
6. Say what is really important in just a few words. Children tend to hear the first few words that we say, so choose your words carefully.

Parent Coaching and Counseling:

You and your Parenting Support Line coach/counselor will spend personal, quality telephone time gaining awareness, building self-esteem, answering crucial questions, finding practical solutions and effecting change. In the course of a short consultation and three fruitful conversations, we will focus on your immediate needs, offer choices for change, and nurture your development as a more effective parent.

Together, we can get your kids to listen!
